The Eric Mircher Gallery opened in 2005 in the 3^rd district of Paris. The Gallery is located on Rue-Saint Claude, which has now become home to many of Paris’ finest contemporary galleries.

The Eric Mircher Gallery deals mainly with European artists and recently has begun to specilaize particularly in painting and sculpture. The gallery has also developed important relationships with artists across the atlantic, and helped to exhibit their work for the first time in Paris (ex. Steve Galloway and Michael McMillen from California and Max Streicher from Canada).

Since its inception, The Eric Mircher Gallery has been home to nearly 60 exhibitions held for public viewing. Many of these exhibitions have caught the attention of private and institutional collectors alike who wish to discover and acquire works by new and emerging talents.

Through various forms of networking The Eric Mircher gallery has helped organize and lend support to several exhibitions outside of its own space in places such as Istanbul and Berlin. The gallery has also participated in various art fairs since its inception and has raised awareness of its artists through ArtParis, Drawing Now, in Honkong, and in Bologne. However, The Eric Mircher gallery maintains that its personal gallery space and the sudios are in fact the best place to discover and learn more about its artists.Welcome!

FROM 14 TO 23 JUNE « Il existe une petite fleur extrêmement frêle et belle qui se nomme la saxifrage ombreuse. On l’appelle aussi «le désespoir du peintre». Elle ne désespère plus aucun artiste, depuis que la photographie et bien d’autres découvertes ont libéré la peinture du souci de la ressemblance extérieure. Le peintre le moins jeune d’esprit ne s’assied pas aujourd’hui devant un bouquet comme il l’eût fait naguère. Son oeil voit autre chose que le bouquet, ou plutôt son modèle lui est prétexte à exprimer par la surface colorée une réalité cachée à l’oeil profane. Il tente d’arracher un secret à la création… » (ext. Le matin des magiciens - Louis Pauwels - Jacques Bergier). Cette exposition collective de quatre peintres se place sous le signe de l’épuisement et la confluence des sources. La permutation des médiums (photo, peinture, projections, installations) est au coeur de leurs pratiques. Empruntant le nom scientifique de la fleur saxifrage ombreuse appelée également le désespoir du peintre, cette exposition interroge le surgissement des images et le principe de l’unité éclatée dans le faire pictural. Afin de questionner en commun les enjeux liés à leurs pratiques de la peinture, Mireille Blanc, Marine Wallon, Marie Weisensel et Raphaël Barontini ont cette particularité de sonder la stratification, les conditions de production de leurs oeuvres par l’utilisation permanente des nouvelles technologies, des logiciels, de la photographie et d’archives. Incluant foncièrement un système de filtrage, le réel est sapé, le support initial est dérouté, la peinture est perturbée, voire court-circuitée. Par mon intrusion dans leurs ateliers et suite à nos nombreux échanges, nous avons souhaité revenir aux origines du travail. La scénographie de l’exposition souligne cette idée de collage et de « maquettisation » de concepts partagés : la “réalité cachée”, celle qu’on tente de faire apparaître. L’Espace Lhomond, espace d’exposition à trois niveaux dont deux en sous sol, permet de déjouer cette part ombragée et enfouie de l’oeuvre en convoquant la puissance des références, la perte et l’apparition du médium pictural. 3rd-26 January 2013 Cristin Tierney is pleased to present a new group exhibition entitled Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. featuring works by Neil Goldberg, Markus Hansen, Alois Kronschlaeger, Simon Lee, Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins, Ryan McGinness, Tomas Rivas, Eve Sussman, and Jean Shin. This exhibition will be on view through Saturday, January 26th, 2013. From Marcel Duchamp’s readymades to Robert Rauschenberg’s combines, the contemporary art world has embraced the tradition of making artwork from found objects and repurposed materials.
